New Beginnings Community Center (NBCC) is dedicated to empowering and uplifting the community through workforce development, wellness initiatives, education, and life-changing opportunities. Our mission is to help individuals and families build stronger futures by providing access to resources, training, mentorship, and community support.
We are excited to officially launch our first workforce development initiative, the NBCC Summer Salon Workforce Training Program, hosted in partnership with New Beginnings Hair Studio. This hands-on program introduces youth and aspiring beauty professionals to salon operations, professionalism, entrepreneurship, barbering, natural hair education, and workforce readiness in a real salon environment.
Through mentorship, practical training, and community support, NBCC is committed to creating opportunities that inspire confidence, creativity, leadership, and career growth for the next generation.
Ways to Help
There are many ways individuals, businesses, and community partners can support the NBCC Summer Salon Workforce Training Program as we prepare to train our first cohort of 6 students.
Ways to Support:
• Sponsor a student training kit or salon supplies
• Donate salon products, barbering tools, mannequins, or equipment
• Provide snacks, lunches, or beverages for students during training days
• Volunteer as a guest speaker, mentor, or beauty industry professional
• Sponsor program shirts, certificates, or graduation materials
• Offer internships, shadowing opportunities, or career guidance
• Make financial contributions to help support workforce development and future program expansion
• Share the program with the community and on social media
This program is designed to provide hands-on salon training, workforce readiness, mentorship, and exposure to cosmetology, barbering, natural hair care, salon management, and entrepreneurship in a professional environment.
